Mid-Ohio Paper Shredding opened its doors in March 2026, but owner Collin Lawrence has spent more than 10 years handling and destroying sensitive and classified information — first as a U.S. Army intelligence analyst entrusted with Top Secret material, where protecting information wasn't a policy, it was the job.
That's the standard we bring to your paperwork. Your tax returns, patient files, and client records get the same care we were trained to give classified documents.
We're a service-disabled veteran-owned business, based right here in Galion, and we run every job ourselves — no subcontractors, no unmarked trucks. When you call, you talk to the same person who shows up with the truck. Our owner grew up in Nitro, West Virginia and graduated from Poca High School, which is why the whole Charleston-to-Huntington corridor is on our schedule too.
Why I started this
I started Mid-Ohio Paper Shredding to do two things: save businesses money, and make shredding simple. Too many big companies quote a low number and then pile on hidden fees to squeeze as much as they can out of a customer. I hate that. With MOPS, the price is simple, you see all of it, and you agree to it before we go forward. That's it.
I grew up in Nitro, West Virginia, and joined the Army at 18. I spent my Army career as an intelligence analyst and paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. In that job, the government trusted us with Top Secret information — and trusted us to handle it, protect it, and destroy it the right way when it was time. You don't cut corners with that kind of material, and you don't forget the habit. I still hold and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance today.
That's really why I chose this business. Your tax returns, your patients' charts, your clients' files — they deserve the same discipline. I got into shredding to keep people's information secure and to prevent the kind of data leaks that start with a box in the wrong dumpster.

Galion grew up on the rails. The restored Big Four Depot, built in 1900, still anchors downtown.

Why on-site destruction matters
Many shredding services box up your documents and drive them to a distant facility, where they sit until there's enough volume to run the shredder. That gap — between pickup and destruction — is where data breaches happen. We destroy on-site, in front of you, so there's no gap at all.
This is what leaves the truck: confetti-sized pieces, baled and sent to a paper mill. Nothing readable, nothing reconstructable.
