Why offices switch to us for recurring service
Most national shredding companies quote a low headline rate and make it up elsewhere. Our price is the price.
- One page, one year. A simple 12-month agreement with a plain cancellation clause — no auto-renewal traps, no penalty for changing frequency.
- No travel charge. Recurring accounts are routed together, so we don't bill travel at all — the visit price is the whole price.
- One honest extra, disclosed up front. Containers rent for $10 a month each, and a $15 fuel surcharge applies per job (one-time jobs anywhere; recurring pickups within an hour of Galion) only when regional diesel is above $5.80 a gallon. No "environmental" or "administrative" fees, ever.
- Same person, every visit. The owner services your account — not a rotating crew with a route sheet.
- Watch it, then file it. Shredded on-site in your lot, with a certificate of destruction every visit for your HIPAA, GLBA or FACTA file.
Which container do I need?
Executive security console from $45/visit
Looks like office furniture. Fits under a desk or beside the copier, locked slot on top, holds about 100 lbs. Right for most offices under 15 people.
64-gallon high-security bin from $65/visit
A locked wheeled bin for back rooms, mailrooms and medical records areas. Holds about 200 lbs. Right for clinics, larger offices and anyone purging files steadily.

Recurring service
We place locked containers in your office and empty them on schedule. Rates are per container, per service visit, with no travel charge. Containers rent for $10 per month each. Simple 12-month agreement.

We've read the invoices people bring us from the big national shredding companies. A low headline rate, then a fuel surcharge, an "environmental" fee, an administrative fee, a container fee that wasn't mentioned, an annual price increase written into the fine print, and a contract that renews itself unless you cancel in a two-week window three years from now.
We started this company partly because that's not how a Galion business should treat its neighbors. So here's the whole list of what we charge. If it isn't on this page, we don't charge it.
The only two extras that exist are printed right here too: $10 a month to rent a container, and a $15 fuel surcharge per job that only kicks in if regional diesel goes above $5.80 a gallon. When they apply, you'll see them on the quote before you sign anything.
What you'll never see on our invoice
- An "environmental," "administrative," or "recovery" fee
- A fuel charge that's just there every month
- A travel charge on recurring service
- A price increase you weren't told about first
- An auto-renewal you didn't ask for
- A fee for changing your pickup frequency
- A handling charge you weren't quoted — stairs and elevators are $1 a box per flight, printed on the rate sheet
- A minimum you weren't told about
- A charge for the certificate of destruction
Get a quote in writing before we start, every time. The only time a price changes is if the number of boxes or items we find when we arrive is different from what you estimated — and even then, we talk it through with you before anything is charged or shredded. If a rate ever changes, you'll have it in writing before it takes effect.

Quoted as $90 a month. Invoiced as $90 a month. Every line above is also on the rate sheet on this page — including the surcharge, and exactly when it applies.
Our headline rate is higher, and our invoice is still lower — even with our fuel surcharge on. When diesel drops back under $5.80, it's $75. Either way, the number we quote is the number you pay. We'd rather show you the real total than win a comparison on a number that isn't real.
Questions to ask any shredding company before you sign
Including us. These are the questions that surface the fees. Our answers are in bold.
What is the total on my first invoice, all fees included?
Ours: the number the calculator shows you. The only thing that changes it is if the box count is different when we arrive, and we discuss that with you before we charge or shred anything. If a company can't answer this in one sentence, the fees are in the fine print.
Is there a fuel or environmental surcharge, and what triggers it?
Ours: no environmental fee ever. A $15 fuel surcharge per job, only when regional diesel is above $5.80, and it's shown as its own line. Many companies charge a percentage every month regardless of fuel prices.
How long is the term, and what happens when it ends?
Ours: 12 months. It ends. If you'd like to continue, we'll ask. Watch for 3- to 5-year terms with automatic renewal and a narrow cancellation window.
Does the price go up, and how would I find out?
Ours: there's no automatic escalator in our agreement. If market conditions ever force an adjustment, you'll hear it from us in writing before it appears on any invoice — never as a surprise on the bill. Watch for "annual rate adjustment" or "CPI escalator" clauses that raise the price quietly every year.
Is the container included, or is it a separate fee?
Ours: $10 a month per container, printed on the rate sheet and the quote. The problem isn't the fee — it's not being told.
Is there a charge for the certificate of destruction?
Ours: never. It's part of the job.
Can I watch my documents being destroyed?
Ours: yes, every time. It happens in your parking lot. Off-site services can't offer this; ask how long documents sit before destruction.
Fuel surcharge status
Our only variable fee, shown in the open. It's $15 per job — every one-time job, and recurring pickups within an hour of Galion — and only when the regional diesel price is above $5.80 per gallon.
We update this line whenever the price crosses the line either way. If it's ever in effect, the $15 appears as its own line on your quote and invoice — never folded into another number.
Get it in writing
Every job starts with a written quote — by email or text — that lists the same line items you'll see on the invoice. Keep it. If the two ever don't match, you pay the quote.
The one exception: if the number of boxes or items is different when we arrive than what you estimated, the price adjusts to what's actually there — and we go over it with you first, before anything is charged or shredded. No surprises after the fact.

Recurring accounts never pay travel — we route them together, so the visit price is the whole price. For one-time jobs, anywhere within an hour of Galion is one flat $75, quoted up front with your shredding total. Farther out, it's still a single flat number. Jobs of 100 boxes or more have no travel charge at all.

When travel is free
- Recurring service. Scheduled accounts never pay travel — the visit price is everything.
- 100 boxes or more. Large one-time jobs carry no travel charge anywhere in our two-hour circle.
Stairs and elevators
- $1 per box, per flight of stairs we carry it up or down. Ten boxes from a second floor is $10.
- $1 per elevator ride. A cart-load per ride; most jobs are one or two rides.
- Ground-floor and garage pickups have no handling charge.
Drive times are approximate; we confirm the exact charge when we quote, before anything is scheduled.

Nobody counts sheets. Count what the paper is sitting in — bags, drawers, boxes, piles — and we'll convert it to standard boxes so your quote is accurate the first time.
